The Kremlin spokesman described Navalny’s calls as "alarming"

MOSCOW, January 19. /TASS/. Blogger Alexey Navalny’s calls on the Russian people "to take to the streets" could be checked for compliance with the law, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

He described Navalny’s calls as "alarming." "We are not eligible to judge but some analysis and examination could definitely be conducted in order to figure out if those were calls for illegal actions," Peskov pointed out. He emphasized that the Kremlin was not concerned about the possibility of mass protests.

Navalny, who was wanted for violating his suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case, was detained at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport upon arrival from Berlin on Sunday. Moscow’s Khimkinsky District Court ruled on Monday that Navalny should remain in custody until February 15.
