Russian embassy does its utmost for release of Russians in South Sudan, diplomat says

Russia’s embassy to Uganda and South Sudan is in touch with the Russian citizens, Maria Zakharova said

MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/. Russian diplomats do their best to secure the release of Russians detained in South Sudan, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told TASS on Wednesday.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry is aware that several Russian citizens, including Ilya Varlamov and Pyotr Verzilov have been detained," the diplomat indicated. "Russia’s embassy to Uganda and South Sudan (dual accreditation) is in touch with the Russian citizens and is making efforts to secure their release."
