Putin to hold meeting on fighting coronavirus

According to the Kremlin spokesman, Putin also plans to have an international phone conversation later on Tuesday

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will chair a meeting on the coronavirus situation on Tuesday, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"The president continues to work in [his] Novo-Ogaryovo [residence] today. Later in the day, he will have a meeting with experts on the coronavirus situation and on preventive measures," he said.

"Of course, that will be a teleconference meeting," Peskov added.

He noted that taking part in the meeting would be Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko and Presidential Aide Maxim Oreshkin. It will also be attended by experts, the heads and representatives of large medical and research centers that deal with issues related to combating the spread of viruses and developing vaccines.

When asked whether chief physician of the coronavirus hospital in Moscow’s Kummunarka Denis Protsenko will take part in the video conference, Peskov answered in the negative.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, Putin also plans to have an international phone conversation on April 7.
