SOCHI, May 14. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has wrapped up his working visit to the Astrakhan region and returned to Sochi, where he will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

The two top diplomats held talks in Sochi earlier in the day.

Putin usually receives US secretaries of state who come to Russia to meet with their Russian counterparts. In April 2017, the Russian president met with Pompeo’s predecessor Rex Tillerson. Besides, Putin received John Kerry who served as US Secretary of State under President Barack Obama, more than once. The Russian president also received in Russia Colin Powell, who was the US Secretary of State under President George W. Bush.
