Putin, Erdogan discuss upcoming Russian-Turkish cooperation council meeting
The Russian leader also congratulated Erdogan on the success of the Justice and Development Party, headed by the Turkish leader, at the March 31 local election

During Monday’s phone call, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have discussed the preparations for the upcoming session of the High-Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council, set to be held in Moscow on April 8, the Kremlin press service informed.
"[During the phone call], they have touched upon the issues on the bilateral agenda in the context of the preparations for the planned eighth session of the High-Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council to be held in Moscow on April 8," the press service stated.
Putin also congratulated Erdogan on the success of the Justice and Development Party, headed by the Turkish leader, at the March 31 local election, the Kremlin added.
According to preliminary results, the Erdogan-led Justice and Development Party has received 51.66% of the vote, while the alliance of leading opposition parties, the Republican People's Party and the Iyi Party, has accumulated 37.57% of the vote.
