Federation Council delegation arrives in North Korea
Russian senators plan to hold a number of business meetings aimed at continuing the dialogue with this country
PYONGYANG, March 16. /TASS/. Russian senators arrived in North Korea on Saturday, where they plan to hold a number of business meetings aimed at continuing the dialogue with this country on March 16-21. Frist Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council’s Committee for Foreign Affairs Sergei Kislyak told TASS about it upon arrival to Pyongyang Sunan International Airport.
"The goal of the visit [to North Korea] is to continue the dialogue with a country that is friendly to us and that is solving most difficult problems in the foreign and domestic policies," the senator said. "We have things to discuss, we wish to better understand the aspirations of our North Korean neighbors, and I think that this dialogue is an absolutely natural, normal practice that we will continue in our relations."
"We have a heavy substantial program that includes not just the cultural part," said head of the group of cooperation between the Federation Council and North Korea’s parliament Oleg Melnichenko, who heads the delegation that arrived to Pyongyang.
