John Bolton will have consultations with Russian senior officials on October 22-23
MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s meeting with US National Security Adviser John Bolton is still being prepared, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday.
"This meeting is being prepared," he told reporters when asked whether Putin’s schedule has been changed following US President Donald Trump’s statement that his country was withdrawing from the INF Treaty.
Bolton arrived in Moscow on Sunday evening to have consultations with Russian senior officials on October 22-23.
On Saturday, US President Donald Trump said that Washington would withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) since Russia, in his words, was violating the agreement’s terms. According to The New York Times, Bolton has been commissioned to notify Moscow about Washington’s plans to begin preparations for the withdrawal from the INF Treaty.
