Diplomat comments on meeting of Russian, US security chiefs
Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and United States National Security Advisor John Bolton held a meeting on August 24
GENEVA, August 23. /TASS/. At the meeting between Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and United States National Security Advisor John Bolton Moscow saw Washington’s intention to search for common points in some issues. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told TASS about it on Thursday.
"The meeting was constructive, and we feel that our American counterparts intend to search for common points in some issues that are important to us as well. It chiefly concerns a broad scope of issues in the war on international terror and cooperation on certain aspects of regional crises and conflicts," the deputy foreign minister stressed.
It was stated that there are still disagreements between Moscow and Washington, "and the sources of these disagreements are clear to all," he said. "The American side continues to blame Russia for the intervention in the election processes - we didn’t learn anything new here. A comprehensive well-reasoned answer was given on what to do with it and how to overcome problems of this kind," Ryabkov added.
