Putin arrives in Johannesburg for BRICS summit
Vladimir Putin is scheduled to hold talks with the summit’s host, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa
JOHANNESBURG, July 26. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in South Africa. The presidential plane landed in the country’s main airport, named after South African politician and former President of the African National Congress Oliver Tambo, which is located not far from the city of Johannesburg.
On Thursday and Friday, the Russian head of state will take part in the events of the tenth BRICS summit, scheduled to take place in Johannesburg’s Sandton Convention Center. On Thursday, BRICS leaders will participate in private and expanded meetings and sign documents.
On the same day, Putin is scheduled to hold talks with the summit’s host, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, as well as bilateral meetings with the leaders of Argentina, Angola, Turkey, Zambia, China and India.
On Friday, two sessions will take place, which will involve leaders of non-BRICS countries, invited to the summit.
