Important agreements reached at Russia-US summit in Helsinki — Russian ambassador

MOSCOW, July 18. /TASS/. The Russian-US summit in Helsinki yielded very important oral agreements, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov told the 60 Minutes program on the Rossiya-1 television channel on Wednesday.

"It was an important meeting. It was meaty, productive and constructive. I think important oral agreements were reached," he said, adding that the summit was of major significance for both bilateral relations and global security.

Russian and US Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, held their first full-format meeting in Finnish capital Helsinki on July 16. After a two-hour one-on-one conversation, they were joined by their countries’ delegation at a working breakfast. The Russian delegation included presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov. The US delegation included National Security Adviser John Bolton, Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders. The expanded meeting lasted for about two hours.
