Putin, Trump continue negotiations over larger working lunch
Both countries’ delegations have now joined the two leaders
HELSINKI, July 16. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump continue negotiations over a larger working lunch. Both countries’ delegations have now joined the two leaders, with no media present.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov and Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov represent the Russian delegation.
The Russian-US summit takes place at the Presidential Palace in downtown Helsinki. Both leaders are expected to give a joint press conference after the meeting.
Putin and Trump held their first talks on the sidelines of the Group of Twenty summit in Germany’s Hamburg in July 2017. They had another opportunity to exchange views during the APEC summit in Vietnam in November 2017, but no full-fledged meeting took place. However, Putin and Trump talked on the sidelines of the forum and adopted a joint statement on Syria.
