Russian government supports bill on countersanctions
MOSCOW, May 15. /TASS/. The Russian government supports the concept of the draft law on counter-sanctions, acting plenipotentiary of the government in the State Duma Alexander Sinenko said at a meeting in the State Duma on Tuesday.
"The government is interested in getting a clear, sound and consistent basis for its actions. It seems to us that the draft law discussed in the first reading, its concept, already provides such a basis. In this regard, I would like to note that the government supports the draft federal law in the first reading," he said.
The Russian government will take measures as part of the future law on counter-sanctions only after careful consultations with the parliament and the business community, he said.
"The text that we have already seen and which can become the second reading, in our opinion, further strengthens the legal basis of our actions. I would like to note once again that if the law is adopted, the government of the Russian Federation will take concrete actions only after careful consultations with the parliament and the expert community," he said.
