Russian, Afghan senior security officials discuss fight against drug trafficking

SOCHI, April 26. /TASS/. Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev has met with National Security Advisor to Afghan President Mohammad Haneef Atmar. According to the Security Council’s press service, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues, which is being held in the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi on April 25-26.

"Nikolai Patrushev and Mohammad Haneef Atmar discussed efforts to fight illicit drug trafficking and counter terrorist financing," the press service noted.

The secretary of Russia’s Security Council also held a meeting with Dragan Mektic, Security Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The parties discussed ways of countering illegal migration. In addition, Patrushev had bilateral meetings with representatives of Guatemala, Madagascar, the Dominican Republic and some other countries.
