US rock legends Aerosmith to perform at Moscow City Day

MOSCOW, August 18. /TASS/. Aerosmith, a legendary American rock band founded in 1970, will perform in the Russian capital on September 5 during the celebrations of the Moscow City Day, organizers told TASS on Tuesday.
The Boston-based band led by its frontman Steven Tyler will give an hour and a half concert on a stage currently being installed near Moscow State University, organizers said.
Gorky Park, a Russian hard rock band popular in the US in the 1990s, British singer John Newman and Polina Gagarina, who took the second place at the 2015 Eurovision song contest, will also take part in the 7.5-hour show dedicated to Moscow’s 868th anniversary.
Aerosmith is known as the best-selling American rock band of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide, including over 70 million records in the United States alone.
The band has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, put both on Rolling Stone's and VH1's lists of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
