Bear bites off worker's hand at beer factory in Russia

The worker supposedly didn't report the incident to the police as he had dived his hand into the cage, thus provoking the animal

MURMANSK, December 11. /TASS/. The prosecution office in northern Russia's Murmansk region is looking into reports of local web editions on a bear attacking a man. A bear kept in a cage on the premisses of the Kolsky beer factory bit off a hand of one of the factory workers, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office told TASS.

According to preliminary information, the worker didn't report the incident to the police as he had dived his hand into the cage, thus provoking the animal.

The press service also said the prosecutor's office had got reports concerning the bear being kept at the factory, but there were no grounds to confiscate the animal.
