NEW YORK, November 13. /TASS/. Christie's has presented a unique Martian meteorite discovered in the Sahara desert in 2011 at its online auction ending in late November, the auction house said on its website.
The meteorite nicknamed Black Beauty is estimated at $75,000-100,000, Christies said.
Christies described the lot as "the second oldest Martian meteorite known having been formed from magma more than two billion years ago."
According to Christie's, Black Beauty contains 10-30 times more chemically bound water than other Martian meteorites.
Other 29 meteorites from the Moon, Mars and asteroids are also available for online bidding.
