Russian conductor dedicates concert to late Total CEO who died in Moscow jet crash
Representatives of Valery Gergiyev's orchestra highly appreciated Christophe de Margerie's contribution to cultural exchange between states and his international humanitarian missions
MOSCOW, November 12. /TASS/. Maestro Valery Gergiyev will give a New Year concert in Moscow which will be dedicated to his friend, former Total CEO Christophe de Margerie, who was killed in a tragic air disaster in Moscow, Gergiyev's press service told TASS on Wednesday.
Maestro Gergiyev will conduct a symphony orchestra of the Mariinsky Opera and Ballet theater which will perform at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Concert Hall on December 8, organizers said.
The Total concern had supported and continues to support Gergiyev's music projects and his orchestra. The Easter Festival, the Stars of the White Nights and annual concert tours of the company and the orchestra of the Mariinsky Opera and Ballet theater to Russian regions are among them, the press service said.

After the tragic accident at Vnukovo airport in Moscow in which Christophe de Margerie was killed President Putin sent a telegram of condolences to French President Francois Hollande. " Christophe de Margerie was an initiator of many joint projects which laid the foundation for many years of fruitful cooperation between Russia and France in the energy sector. We have lost a true friend of our country, and we will cherish good memories of Christophe de Margerie in our hearts," Putin said in the telegram.
