PRAGUE, November 7. /TASS/. A mushroom hunter from the Czech town of Ostrava found in the woods 102 Roman coins minted in the 2nd century AD, a local museum official said on Friday.
The well-preserved Roman denarii bearing portraits of Emperors Trajan and Hadrian were discovered on the surface and handed to the museum.
The coins were presumably buried in a canvas bag by some Roman legionary, the museum official said.
He added that the discovery made a sensation in the region where only one Roman coin had been found so far.
The site of the discovery is being kep secret to prevent treasure hunters from digging through the forest.
