MOSCOW, October 22. /TASS/. The American film director, screenwriter and producer David Ayer will not be able to visit Moscow to attend a premiere of his new film about World War II because of his illness, Russian film providers told TASS on Wednesday.

The war film Fury (2014) starring Brad Pitt was planned to be presented in Moscow by the director himself the next day after world premiere. However, Ayer caught a cold and will not fly to Russia.

Nevertheless, the premiere is still on schedule as planned on October 23. Several celebrities, such as Russian film director Valery Todorovsky, famous Russian actor and television anchor Igor Ugolnikov, Ukrainian film director and producer Alexander Rodnyansky, Russian actress and model Yulia Snigir are expected at the premiere. The film will be released in Russia on October 30.

David Ayer is famous for his thriller drama End of Watch (2012) and action thriller Street Kings (2008). He also wrote screenplays for Antoine Fuqua’s crime thriller Training Day (2001) and Rob Cohen’s famous action film The Fast and the Furious (2001). Ayer’s latest film Fury tells the story of American military operation in Nazi Germany during the World War II. Along with American movie star Brad Pitt, the film’s cast includes such Hollywood stars as Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal and Michael Peña.
