American citizens' confidence in news media has fallen to a historical low
WASHINGTON, D.C. September 18. /ITAR-TASS/. American citizens' confidence in news media has fallen to a historical low. The Gallup polling service reports only 40% of Americans think media can report "the news fully, accurately, and fairly".
Americans' trust in mass media has been edging downward. Before 2004 over half of the country's citizens shared that point of view. According to sociologists, confidence in media falls in election years which leads to a conclusion that "something in the national elections causes scepticism in news media accuracy."
