Sweden’s Andersson wins Venice Film Festival’s Golden Lion

The Silver Lion was awarded to Russian film director Andrei Konchalovsky’s “The Postman's White Nights”

VENICE, September 06, /ITAR-TASS/. The Venice Film Festival’s Golden Lion on Saturday was awarded to Swedish film director Roy Andersson “A Pigeon Sat on a Branch”.

The jury’s main prize went to Joshua Oppenheimer’s “The Look of Silence”, which tells about a family that survives the genocide in Indonesia confronts the men who killed one of their brothers.

The Silver Lion was awarded to Russian film director Andrei Konchalovsky’s “The Postman's White Nights”.
