Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg is the most active user of Twitter among all heads of state and government in Europe, according to a study by PR agency Burson-Marsteller.
Followed by 95,000 people, Solberg doesn't have a record number of tweets. However, she replies to her followers more often than her European colleagues.
According to the agency, 74% of Solberg's twits are replies to her followers. Only four high-ranking politicians are ahead of her: they are Ugandan prime minister Amama Mbabazi (95%), Rwandan president Paul Kagame (87%), Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa (81%), and Rwanda's foreign minister Louise Mushikiwabo (75%).
In February, Erna Solberg won the "best Tweet" award in Norway for her reply to a tweet to former PM Jens Stoltenberg. Her predecessor wrote that he couldn't find his recipe for herring salad. "Hi Jens, I have not found any herring recipes in the Prime Minister's residence," quickly replied Solberg.
Norwegian Prime Minister, together with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev are the only two political leaders mutually followed Twitter by US President Barack Obama.
