First launch of light rocket Angara delayed for 2 days — defense ministry

MOSCOW, June 20. /ITAR-TASS/. The state committee has delayed a maiden launch of light rocket Angara from June 25 to June 27 at Russian northern spaceport Plesetsk, Defense Ministry’s spokesman for Aerospace Defense Troops Col Alexei Zolotukhin told ITAR-TASS on Friday.
“The first trial launch of light rocket Angara-1.2PP is to be made from spaceport Plesetsk on June 27,” he said.
The state commission for flight trials of launch vehicles decided at its meeting in the headquarters of the Aerospace Defense Troops on Thursday to start fight trials of rocket Angara, Zolotukhin said. “At the meeting members of the state commission discussed results of preparing space rocket Angara1.2PP and ground infrastructure facilities to the start of Angara flight trials and set the date of rocket delivery to a universal launching site at spaceport Plesetsk,” the colonel added.
In his words, cosmodrome specialists began final operations to prepare rocket Angara for the delivery to the universal launching site Angara.
He added that the delivery of space rocket Angara-1.2PP to the universal launching site Angara is planned on June 25. “A final decision to deliver space rocket Angara-1.2PP to the universal launching site will be taken at a meeting of the state commission that will be held at spaceport Plesetsk on June 24,” the spokesman of the troops said.
