Russia’s Rostelecom search engine Sputnik gathers 2 million visitors

MOSCOW, June 02./ITAR-TASS/. Russian Internet search engine Sputnik, launched by state-controlled telecom giant Rostelecom on May 22, has registered more than 2 million visitors, including 550,000 people in the first day of work, Rostelecom said Monday in a statement.
Sputnik’s most popular sections were its news aggregator, the medications service and online TV. Citizens of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg were the most active users, Rostelecom said.
Sputnik’s team upgrades and improves the work of the search engine on a daily basis through an analysis of tests and following users’ comments.
