Russia’s federal space programme for 2016-2025 to have more research projects
The programme will incorporate Solar System research projects, and deeps space research projects, including Lunar and Mars projects
MOSCOW, April 08. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s new federal space programme for 2016-2025 will have more room for research projects than the previous one (2006-2015), State Secretary and Deputy Director of the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos) Denis Lyskov said on Tuesday.
“The government will allocate more fund for the implementation of the new programme, it will have more research projects,” he said at a roundtable meeting dedicated to space research problems. “We are trying to include all scientific areas that are of interest for the Russian Academy of Sciences.”
Thus, the programme will incorporate Solar System research projects, and deeps space research projects, including Lunar and Mars projects.
“We might be lagging behind in some areas but here we have always been and will always be the leaders,” he stressed.
The roundtable meeting organizers said that the 40th assembly of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) would be held in Moscow on August 2 through 10. The assembly will bring together several thousands of researchers and scientists who would discuss the latest scientific results in the area of space research and plans for further work. Among projects to be discussed will be the United States’, European, Chinese and Indian planetary missions, astrophysical and solar observatories, Earth exploration from outer space.
