Four arrested in New York on suspicion of dealing to late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman

According to preliminary data, the actor died of drug overdose

LOS ANGELES, February 5. /ITAR-TASS/. Four persons have been arrested in New York on Thursday on suspicion of dealing to late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, The New York Post reports.

According to the publication, the arrested are three men aged 20-50 years and a 20-year-old female. All the suspects were detained in Chinatown after police received data from sources on where the actor was getting heroin from.

Earlier, in Hoffman’s apartment in New York, where the actor’s body was found on Sunday, about 50 envelopes with heroin, used syringes and prescription medicines were discovered.

According to preliminary data, the actor died of drug overdose. Forensic scientists will name the official cause of death.

In 2006, Hoffman received the Oscar for leading role in “Capote”, and in 2012, he was named best actor at the Venice Film Festival for supporting role in “The Master” drama. He is also famous for his roles in “The Talented Mr. Ripley”, “Magnolia”, “The Big Lebowski”, “The Boat That Rocked”, “The Man Who Changed Everything”, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”.
