Popular Russian actor and playwright Nikolai Koliada was detained drunk on a flight bound for Moscow

YEKATERINBURG, January 14. /ITAR-TASS/. After filing an administrative protocol, police set free popular Russian actor and playwright Nikolai Koliada detained drunk on a flight bound for Moscow, the press service of the Urals transport police told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

An administrative protocol was also filed against Koliada’s colleague, who was also removed from the plane, the press service said. “They will be penalized to the amount of 100 to 500 rubles (one dollar is about 33 rubles). The exact sum will be determined by the court,” its sources added.

The plane bound for Moscow was delayed for half-an-hour early on Tuesday at Koltsovo airport in Yekaterinburg. “Koliada, accompanied by actors, appeared drunk on board the plane. It was decided to remove him from the plane. Some people stood up for him, and a decision was made to remove one of the protectors as well,” they said.

“Later police with dogs came on board the plane to gather evidence from stewardesses. The commander’s decision to remove the playwright from the plane was firm although actors had pleaded him to reverse it,” the sources added. People were worried as some of them had short airport connection time at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport, they said.

Nikolai Koliada, who heads the “Koliada Theatre” in Yekaterinburg, was to fly to Moscow on a scheduled tour.
