No serious progress made near Ugledar, situation stably tense — DPR head
Ukraine keeps on attempting to counterattack but Russian forces retain their positions, official says
MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Russian forces are using every opportunity to improve their positions near Ugledar but no serious progress has been made, acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin told TASS on Tuesday.
"The situation in Ugledar continues to be difficult, with no serious progress made in either direction. The situation is stably tense. The enemy keeps on attempting to counterattack but our forces retain their positions. They are trying to improve [their position] whenever possible, both in the northern and southwestern parts," he said.
Located southwest of Donetsk, Ugledar is a major logistics hub providing supplies for Ukrainian units along the Maryinka direction, where shelling attacks on Donetsk are staged from.
Pushilin said in early February that Ukrainian troops were equipping new defense lines near Ugledar.
