Three hospitals in LPR hit by Ukrainian troops since year beginning
According to LPR’s former Ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik, medical facilities targeted "deliberately"
MOSCOW, January 29. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops have shelled hospitals in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) three times in less than a month, LPR’s former Ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik said on Sunday.
"There is a tendency to target medical establishments in the LPR. Since the beginning of the year, at let three hospitals have been deliberately hit," he said in an interview with the Solovyov Live television channel.
The latest such attack took place on Saturday, when a hospital in the city of Novoaidar was hit by a HIMARS rocket, he said, noting that HIMARS systems are high-precision weapons, which means that it was a targeted strike. According to Miroshnik, the hospital in Novoaidar was completely destroyed and a hospital in the city of Kremennaya was seriously damaged.
The Russian defense ministry said earlier that on Saturday Ukrainian troops delivered a strike at a hospital in Novoaidar from HIMARS systems, killing 14 and wounding 24 people.
The hospital in Kremennaya was shelled by Ukrainian troops in December 2022. Two HIMARS rockets destroyed the hospital’s surgical department. The hospital has been working in the outpatient mode since then.
