MOSCOW, October 21 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow voices concern about the attacks on Copts, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

Violence should be ceased, the ministry said.

On October 20, two unknown people attacked on a wedding ceremony at the Copt church in Giza, Cairo’s suburbs. Three people were killed and over 10 people were injured.

“We note that the Copt community in Egypt and its religious centres were attacked earlier,” the ministry said.

Russia believes that such violence “should be ceased within the common efforts taken by the Egyptian authorities to ensure security and stability in the region”, the ministry said, adding, “This will make it possible to Egypt to ensure the economic and political development by preserving inter-confessional peace and nationwide accord.”
