MOSCOW, October 11 (Itar-Tass) - The work to eliminate Syrian chemical weapons is running smoothly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at 8th East Asia Summit /EAS/ in Brunei.

"We're grateful to all the representatives of the EAS members-states for the words of support for the Russian-U.S.initiative to eliminate chemical weapons in Syria," Lavrov said. "The work is running without fail. We're doing everything to make sure that the Syrian government continues bona fide cooperation with inspectors of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons /OPCW/.
