Militants attack South-East Yemen

10 soldiers dead

CAIRO, October 7. (Itar-Tass) – Al Mayadeen TV channel reported that militants attacked the Yemen army in the south east region of the country; 10 soldiers were killed as a result.

According to the authorities, militants managed to capture military hardware belonging to national armed forces. Specifics of the incident and the number of victims is still being looked in to.

Earlier on Monday Al Qaeda militants attacked security checkpoints and took three soldiers hostage in southern part of the country. Islamists fired automatic weapons and destroyed an APC. As a result of a violent clash, several assailants were injured.
