UNITED NATIONS, September 27 (Itar-Tass) - The meeting on Syria to be held on Friday, September 27, by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will also be attended by their colleagues from the other three permanent member states of the U.N. Security Council - UK, China and France.

U.N. Spokesperson Martin Nesirky said the format of the closed meeting, with invitations sent initially to Lavrov, Kerry and the Joint Special Envoy of the United Nations and the League of Arab States for the Syrian Crisis, Lakhdar Brahimi, had been expanded to include other states.

The five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council have lately been trying to agree the text of the resolution in support of the plan aimed at placing Syria’s chemical weapons under international control for subsequent destruction.
