Russia ready to allocate its military and police for security of UN experts in Syria - Lavrov

“It is necessary to guarantee security for the UN experts, who will be involved in elimination of the chemical weapon in Syria,” the foreign minister said

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, September 22 (Itar-Tass) - Russia is ready to allocate its military and police for assuring security of the UN experts working in Syria, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Russia’s First Channel.

“It is necessary to guarantee security for the UN experts, who will be involved in elimination of the chemical weapon in Syria,” the foreign minister said. “We suggest considering an international presence on the perimeter of the regions, where the experts will be working. We are ready to allocate our military, military police to be involved in efforts of the kind.”
