MOSCOW, August 27 (Itar-Tass) - An Ilyushin-76 plane belonging to the Russian Emergencies Ministry landed at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport at 22:38 Moscow time. It had evacuated about 90 Russians and citizens of other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States from Syria. The plane had left Latakia airport earlier on Tuesday.

“There were 89 people who decided to leave Syria onboard. They included 75 Russians, predominantly women and children,” EMERCOM’s official spokesperson Irina Rossius told Itar-Tass.

The Ministry’s psychologists who work at Domodedovo airport had accompanied the passengers during the flight.

Russian Emergencies Ministry planes have evacuated almost 730 people from Syria since the start of 2013.
