20 dead, 120 injured according to preliminary report
BEIRUT, August 15 (Itar-Tass) A powerful blast in South Beirut claimed over 20 lives. 120 injured, mostly women and children, were rushed to hospitals, Al Arabiya TV channel reported. A rigged car detonated near Hezbollah Shi'a Islamic militant group headquarters, setting nearby residential buildings ablaze. Currently firefighters are trying to overcome flames and rescue trapped inhabitants.
Aisha Umm-al Mouemeneen terrorist group claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Lebanese Health Ministry has urged the population to give blood to aid the wounded.
