MOSCOW, April 2 (Itar-Tass) – A plane of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry has sent humanitarian aid for Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

An Il-76 plane with a 37 tonne humanitarian consignment onboard landed in Beirut International Airport.

In particular, the batch includes portable electric power stations, 500 tableware sets, 40 camp furniture sets, 1,500 blankets, over 16 tonnes of canned goods and 5 tonnes of cereals.

Russia sent this humanitarian consignment following the government’s decree of February 20.

In March spokesman for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Adrian Edwards, said in Lebanon there are almost 340,000 Syrian refugees, who fled that country since the conflict began in March 2011.
