ROME, September 26. /TASS/. Four Italian military personnel have been injured during NATO exercises at the Adazi training ground in Latvia, according to the Italian Defense Ministry.

"For reasons that are currently being investigated, an incident involving firearms mounted on an Italian military vehicle occurred during the exercises. The shots hit another Italian military vehicle, which was carrying four servicemen," the ministry said on X.

According to the ministry, the injured servicemen are members of the 11th Bersaglieri Regiment and were involved in the NATO Forward Land Forces ground forces mission.

The injured were evacuated from the training ground and taken to a hospital in Riga. The Italian Defense Ministry also said that an investigation into the incident had been launched.
