LONDON, September 13. /TASS/. A tanker was hit by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said.

"UKMTO has received a report of an incident in the Strait of Hormuz. A vessel was struck by an unknown projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The condition of the crew, damage assessment and environmental impact are currently unknown," the statement said.

No other details, including the vessel's name or port of registry, were provided.
