NEW YORK, August 21. /TASS/. A plane with eight people on board has crashed in the west of Alaska, Associated Press reported citing the National Transportation Safety Board.

The report says that the plane, with two pilots and six passengers, took off from Anchorage and crashed somewhere around Cape Newnham.

A search and rescue effort is under way. The fate of those on board is currently unknown.
