TOKYO, July 28. /TASS/. A magnitude 7.1 earthquake on the southern island of Kyushu caused fires and power outages, damaged roads and bridges, destroyed buildings, said Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

NHK reported said more than 50 people were injured.

An explosion and a collapse at the Aeon shopping center after the earthquake could have killed many people, according to TBS, which quote a local police source as saying.
