NEW YORK, July 12. /TASS/. A shooter opened fire at passers-by in the Canadian city of Toronto, killing at least two people and wounding five.

In a statement published on the X social network, police said five people with gunshot wounds had been found by officers. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the shooter and his motives are unknown at this point.

The shooting occurred during Canada’s largest festival of Latin American culture, the Salsa on St. Clair Festival, the CP24 television channel reported.
