NEW YORK, October 30. /TASS/. An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 was registered off the coast of the American state of Alaska, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicenter was located 177 km north of the city of Anchorage, where about 291,000 people live. The seismic center was located at a depth of 23 km.

There is no information about casualties or damage. No tsunami threat was announced.
