PARIS, October 19. /TASS/. There was a theft at the Louvre on Sunday morning, French Culture Minister Rachida Dati said.

"A robbery took place this morning at the Louvre. There are no casualties. I am at the site with the museum staff and the police. Investigative actions are underway," she said on X.

According to Le Parisien, several armed intruders broke windows in the main Paris museum, stole jewelry and escaped.

The Louvre is now closed to the public.
