Fire kills five children, one adult in Bashkortostan

Acting head of the Chief Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Bashkortostan Eduard Idrisov and a working group of the Chief Directorate have responded to the location of the fire

UFA, March 18. /TASS/. Six people, including five children, died in a fire at a two-story apartment block in the settlement of Vperyod of Bashkortostan’s Davlekanovsky district, according to a statement published by the Chief Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Bashkortostan on Telegram.

"Five children and a man died in a fire in the Davlekanovsky district. Preliminarily, stretched ceiling caught fire in a flat on the second floor of a two-story apartment block in the settlement of Vperyod at night. <…> Unfortunately, five children (three girls born in 2017, 2019, 2019 and two boys born in 2021) and a 33-year-old man were found dead in the flat," the statement reads.

Acting head of the Chief Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Bashkortostan Eduard Idrisov and a working group of the Chief Directorate have responded to the location of the fire. The Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor’s Office employees are also working on the spot.
