STOCKHOLM, February 4. /TASS/. Around ten people were killed in a shooting that occurred outside a school in Sweden, the country’s police reported.

"As a result of the incident, around ten people were killed. We are currently working to identify them. The exact number of victims is unknown at this point," the police said in a statement.

Later, police officials told reporters at a news conference that the gunman was acting alone and was killed. His motives are unknown.

Five people sustained gunshot wounds, but the age of the wounded has not been disclosed.

Previously, Swedish media reported that the shooter was a 35-year-old man with no criminal record and a permission to possess firearms.
