BAKU, December 25. /TASS/. The Azerbaijan Airlines said its Embraer 190 jet that crashed in Kazakhstan had passed a full technical inspection in October.

"The aircraft with registration number 4K-AZ65 was manufactured in 2013. It performed a total of 9,949 landings and clocked a total of 15,257 hours of flight time. The aircraft underwent its latest full technical survey on October 18, 2024. Since that latest inspection, the aircraft has flown 671 hours," the air carrier said in a statement.

The aircraft’s crew chief, Igor Kshnyakin, clocked more than 15,000 hours of flight time, about 11,200 hours of which were as a pilot in command, according to the statement.

An Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190 passenger plane headed from Baku, Azerbaijan to Grozny, Russia crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau earlier on Wednesday. According to the latest reports, there were 67 people on board, including 5 crew. They were nationals of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The Kazakh Health Ministry put the number of survivors at 29.
