Explosion rocks premises of former plant in Russia’s Abakan, killing two
Regional head Valentin Konovalov said that the explosion occurred due to safety violations
KRASNOYARSK, December 23. /TASS/. Two people have been killed and four injured in a blast on the premises of Abakan’s mechanical plant in Russia’s Khakassia Region, the regional head’s press service told TASS.
"Four individuals have been injured, two died, according to most recent information. This happened on the premises of Abakan’s former mechanical plant," the press service said. Regional head Valentin Konovalov wrote on Telegram that the explosion occurred due to safety violations.
According to preliminary information, safety rules were violated during welding. Several enterprises are located on the premises of the former plant.
The four injured individuals have been hospitalized in serious condition, Khakassia’s deputy head Yury Kurlayev said on his Telegram channel.
