ISTANBUL, November 22. /TASS/. Around 400 hotel guests in the town of Manavgat, Antalya, Turkey, have been evacuated by rescuers and relocated to other hotels in the region, according to Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency.
Antalya and many parts of Turkey have been experiencing heavy rains for the second consecutive day. A downpour on Friday morning caused a river in Manavgat to overflow, flooding the first floor of a five-star hotel. In the Antalya province, greenhouses, farmland, and pomegranate and orange orchards have been flooded, according to the TRT Haber TV channel. Several roads have been closed to traffic, with rescuers using inflatable boats in some areas. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue in Antalya on Saturday, with snow forecast for the mountainous regions of the province later in the evening.
Heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and snowfall are expected across the Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean regions, as well as central Turkey. Some areas will also experience a temperature drop of up to 10 degrees.
