ORENBURG, April 15. /TASS/. Since flooding started in the Orenburg Region, almost 18,500 residential buildings and more than 36,600 homesteads have been inundated, the press service of the regional government reported.
According to information as of the morning of April 15, more than 15,000 residential buildings and over 23,600 homestead plots remain flooded in the region."In total, since the beginning of the flood in the region, 18,490 residential buildings, 36,694 personal plots in the territory of 32 municipalities in 99 settlements and 39 gardening partnerships have been flooded," the report says.
As a result of the flooding, a total of 16,547 people have been evacuated from flooded areas, including 4,648 children, according to the press service of the regional government. More than 1,100 people are in temporary accommodation centers. Where flood waters are receding, there are 20 flood damage assessment commissions, consisting of more than 100 people. 866 households have been surveyed. In settlements isolated by flood waters, stores are provided with food, and residents who rely on social services have stocks of food and medicine.During the day, the water level in the Ural River near Orenburg decreased by 16 cm to 1,169 cm, and near Orsk - by 60 cm, to 620 cm.
